2016:  Some Past Events

The Chelsea Chamber of Commerce's 29th Annual $10,000 Pot-of-Gold Drawing & Dinner took place on October 19th at Anthony's of Malden with two-hundred in attendance, many dressed in costumes to match the Halloween theme.  As the Chamber's only major fundraiser, the Pot-of-Gold event is very important in helping us to continue working not only for our members, but for business and commerce in Chelsea as a whole, as well as for the residents of Chelsea.  So, we are thankful for the support of this year's sponsors:

Corporate Partner Sponsors:  Broadway Jewelers, Chelsea Bank--a division of East Cambridge Savings Bank, Eastern Bank, Golden Cannoli, and Gulf Oil.

Member Level Sponsors:  Arsenault & Cline CPAs, Bunker Hill Community College, Cameron Real Estate Group, Harbour Food Service Equipment, Hispanic-American Institute, Metro Credit Union, Peabody Essex Museum, Simboli Properties, and Stop & Compare Supermarkets.

Congratulations to the big winners, including the winners of our Mega-Raffle packages and the live auctions!  If you didn't win, please try again next year for our 30th Annual Pot-of-Gold, which promises to be spectacular.

It was standing room only for the Chamber's sold-out Annual Government Breakfast on September 21st with our guest speaker Hank Shaw, Special Agent-in-Charge for the regional headquarters of the FBI. He shared, to the extent that he was able, details about the new FBI HQ building here in Chelsea as well as how agents and staff will be working from our city. Special Agent Shaw said the FBI looked forward to becoming a community partner in Chelsea.

This event was sponsored by One North of Boston.
At the June Breakfast we had as our guest speaker Stephanie Pollack, Secretary of Transportation for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  With Chelsea's dependence on DOT for bridges, tunnels, buses, and trains, it was a much anticipated presentation.  You can see her slide deck by clicking here.
On May 25, 2016, the Chelsea Chamber welcomed Phyllis Barajas, Founder and CEO of Conexión, an executive mentoring and leadership program for Hispanic/Latino professionals with the mission of developing Hispanic/Latino leaders into strategic and innovative executives.  Click here to view a slide deck from her presentation.

This event was sponsored by Eastern Bank.

On May 3, 2016, the Chelsea Chamber and the Chelsea Rotary Club hosted Brian Golden, Executive Director of the Boston Redevelopment Authority at a special joint luncheon.  Mr. Golden discussed the booming real estate and development climate in Boston and the ancillary effects for Chelsea.  You can view a slide deck of his presentation here.
The Chelsea Chamber's Spring Breakfast on April 20, 2016 featured the President & CEO of El Mundo Boston, Alberto Vasallo, III, as our guest speaker.  El Mundo newspaper is the largest Latino newspaper in New England and recently celebrated its 42nd anniversary.  Mr. Vasallo spoke about the changing face of the Hispanic/Latino demographic with the younger generations benefitting from advances in education, language, and income.

The event was sponsored by Stop & Compare Supermarkets.
